If you are the Yankees, would you trade Hughes for Cliff Lee?

Were debating this on "Mike and Mike" this morning without those two, It was Kuselias and Bucher

I think it would guarantee the Yankees another title.

Would think there would have to be other parts thrown in, but I think it's an interesting question

I think they will wait and sign him in the off season and keep Hughes. They might as well make the payroll 250 Million.

No I don't think they should do it. Hughes is a superstar in the making. JMO.

they can probably just wait for Lee to be a Free Agent and outbid everyone for them and still keep Hughes, which would make their rotation pretty amazing. I think they have enough to win a title this year again so why give up one of your best young prospects

I think they win the World Series with Lee, without chances go down considerably

I don't think it's a slam dunk, Like Jack said Hughes will be a stud for many years to come

What about Jeter and Rivera? They will most likely come back, but they are free agents also and not getting younger

lets be serious for a second here.

How many chances have they had to trade Hughes? They've turned down everyone that's asked for him. And that's when he was unproven, still developing in the minors, with no idea how he'd pitch in the major leagues

Now that he's 10-2 or whatever, and one of the best pitchers in the league this season, proven that he can win at this level, they're all of a sudden gonna change their minds and trade him for Clifford Lee? Child please

Lee has proven he can and will win in the postseason. How about Hughes?

Whichever way you think, I don't think either side is a slam dunk. Yanks are starting to get quite old

regardless of what the "correct" decision is (though I think it's keeping Hughes) Why would they pass on trading him for 3 years in july to all of a sudden do it this year, when he's made it to this point? I just dont think they do it, it wouldn't make sense now

And Cliff Lee has pitched in the postseason 1 of his 10 years in the majors - tho quite well, just fyi

If you believe the Twins when negotiations were going on, they turned down the Yankees for Hughes during the Santana trade talks so that's up for debate that the Yankees "passed" on trading him.

So you would feel more confident with Hughes or Lee in the postseason? I know who I would want out there
