As many of you will be aware, this has hit the headlines recently.
Major League Baseball still does not have instant replay beyond boundary calls on home runs. Yes, I understand to a point where those say its too big a buck on history and tradition to widen the use of the replays. But for me, bottom line the technology is there, they should use it whenever necessary, at the end of the day will all want to see more correct decisions. It should IMO be phased in gradually. What say you? and how should it be run? could it work with a challenge system like the NFL?

As an umpire(American Legion & NCAA), I WAS opposed to instant replay. Today, I'm sick to my stomach on what happened last night. Sad thing is, it happened to one of the "good guys", Jim Joyce.
I can't imagine what he feels like this morning. He'll be behind the plate today. ![]() Sadly, I think instant replay is coming. And maybe we need it. |
