Hear that noise, Derek?

It's the sound of the other teams interested in your services at more than 3/45.

I have to say, I am pleasantly surprised to see the Yankees playing hard ball with arguably one of their franchise greats. Some of the quotes coming out of the young Stienbrenners is price less.

If you look around baseball, there are no teams really needing a mid 30s on the decline short stop. If he does decide to go anywhere else because pride gets in the way, he will end up the loser here & not the Yankees.

The Yankees should do whatever it takes to sign Jeter period. He is the face of the franchise. To let him explore other options is idiotic. JMO

"Class" should get you at least 3 million more per year imo...If there is one guy that should never wear another uniform, it is definitely Jeter.

Guy just came off of a 10 year 189 million dollar deal. Jeter initially asked for 6 more years for 150 million which the Yankees countered at 3/45.

Personally I think this gets done at 4 years and somewhere more than 60 but less than 80.

I agree with Jack though......he is getting signed for who he is and not what hes worth.
