Is Jim Thome Hall of Fame Worthy?

With 2 home runs today, Jim Thome passed Mark McGwire for 9th on the all-time home run list. The guy is a slugger no doubt, but is he worthy of the HOF?

Jim Thome was never considered top 10 in the game in any part of his career. Anyone disagree with that?

Thome is a decent homerun hitter, nothing more. I am a little surprised he has so many but not an all-time great player. JMO

He should get 600+ HRs and as a none steroid user, he gets my nod. Only reason he wasn't in top 10, was because they were mostly on steroids

C Ripkin made the long tour to get in, as others have.

If he wasn't on roids, quite a nice run. Taking out the one year when he was injured, from 1998 to 2008, 10 years, averaged 40 HRs per

will be close to get in, but not a first ballot guy for sure

Agreed as this is a very critical yet unappreciated part of may people's games.

IMO I say he gets in because more than anything he was consistent which meant to me that he was never on steroids as he hit over 50 homers once and over 40 five times.

With that said I say he gets judged with the old parameters where 500 is a lock so I say he gets in and if I had a vote he would be a first ballot selection.

I think he is a good ball player, a nice guy, but when I think of a Hall of Fame player, I dont think of Jim Thome.
