Appears to be a budget move by TB...Kazmir to get 22.5 mil through 2012...hard to believe a contender would let go of a top pitcher like him though

Kazmir has not looked right all year and that is alot of money tied up for a Rays team that has to be conscious about payroll going forward with the amount of young talent they have right now. I think this is a good move for both teams.

Cbs sportsline mentioned that carrying that kind of payroll is tough for them because their attendance has been way off where they thought it was going to be after their 2008 championship run.

would be interesting if TB makes WC and has to face Angels in first round
