granderson coming off injury, starting to hit what he should- lots of speed
gardner is around 300 and great speed too
swisher coming off an all star game and also around 300

then berkman is dh ing

they also have Curtis who has done decent

no need for Kearns IMO

Yanks have 37 games in 38 days. Sounds like they're looking to rest some guys. This gives them yet another option. Considering they gave up the old "player to be named later", it sounds like a cheap, solid option that also adds a little insurance and a right-handed bat.

Austin kearns reminds of jay bruce for the reds... The reds waited and waited for him to come around and never did .. What the hell do the yanks want with him.. He can't hit.........

they have been reluctantly playing Gardner even when he was playing great, has slumped lately, maybe they want some insurance for him.....can't imagine he has the longest leash.....
