did anyone feel that homeplate ump Nelson was in a hurry last night to get out of there like he had a piece of nice tail waiting for hiim

yes I had the over last night....and I watch a lot of ball, but there were a lot of borderline, to not even borderline calls last night that he checked in as strikes immediately, without hesitation...even the fox tracker " all night" was showing the ball out of the zone and nary a word out of mccarver or the other guy.....

his big plate had batters swinging at stuff ordinarily wouldn't, he had hitters out of sorts as much as pitchers did imo....

howard went off on him late, and this subject still wasn't broached....I feel he called a really poor game and it had a big effect on how this game played out....

not sour grapes, but an observation felt strongly about, wondered what others saw or thought.....

psnly had 3 beers, so good there.

Yeah both pitchers were getting a couple inches on either side of plate, happens when the pitchers are around the plate all night. tend to get the benefit of the doubt. this was very clear last night and did have an effect on the game.
