With all the attention on tonight's basketball game, I think it's time to step up on a great value DOG on the basepaths.

The Braves just got swept at the hands of lowly San Francisco...hence the great value today as Derek Lowe toes the rubber to take on Dan Haren and the D-Backs.

While it may appear as if the Braves are slumping, let's remember that they were outmatched on the hill during the sweep, including sending recently-acquired Kawakami and fresh out of the minors Medlen to the mound.

Lowe is a legitimate Cy Young candidate if he keeps it up, and his sinker ball should keep the young and undisciplined Arizona hitters topping the ball all game long. While Haren is a great hurler, he--somewhat like Johan Santana--never gets any run support, and can be reached for mistakes as he tries to be too fine.

As of this post, the Braves were installed as a +105 underdog, and hopefully the line stays near a pick 'em so we continue to get great value.
