Manny Ramirez retiring

Just heard Costas say on the NY/Bos broadcast.

Apparently some drug test issue, and Manny said rather than go through the process, he's retiring.

Haven't seen it elsewhere yet.

Manny Ramirez retires after drug issue

By Evan Brunell
In a move out of left field, Manny Ramirez has retired, and it may have something to do with steroids.

“Major League Baseball recently notified Manny Ramirez of an issue under Major League Baseball’s Joint Drug Prevention and Treatment Program. Rather than continue with the process under the Program, Ramirez has informed MLB that he is retiring as an active player. If Ramirez seeks reinstatement in the future, the process under the Drug Program will be completed. MLB will not have any further comment on this matter."

Evan: What? One name? ONE NAME!?!? Who are you? Seal?
Seth: Fogell, this ID says that you're 25 years old. Why wouldn't you just put 21, man?
Fogell: Seth, Seth, Seth. Listen up, ass-face: every day, hundreds of kids go into the liquor store with fake IDs, and every single one says they're 21. Pssh, how many 21 year olds do you think there are in this town? It's called f*cking strategy, alright?

might cost him what otherwise would have been a hall of fame career.

is it confirmed as steroids?

manny has been busted for pot and steroids before, some sort of repeat offender might get 100 games for any type of infraction.

not that he is smart or a good human either way lol

They should just drop it, and let him go on back to red sox land. Its embarrassing enough to be a red sox fan as it is, but without manny it just becomes ridiculous

Yes, I think it is.

Glad he's gone before he passed Gehrig for all-time grand slam leader.
