Mets shopping Beltran?

Rumors here are the mets are shopping him to see what they can get.

I think it's a good move. Injury risk and they need pitching. What do u think?

They are listening on Beltran, Reyes, and Wright. Sandy wants to build his own team and understands that they might as well start rebuilding while they have some really nice assets. Johan should be available in July with the Mets offering to pay some of his contract.

Wright is still one of the most underrated players in baseball and I'd take him in a heartbeat, Id do Utley for Wright if that ever came to be an option. He's great defensively and has legit gap power.

Reyes is the ultimate "could have been." just never quite reached 75% of his potential with all his injuries. 2-3 years ago he was the highest rated SS and was considered a top 10 player.

Beltran was just a complete flop in NY.

Having a healthy Reyes, Wright, Beltran, Bay, Johan, should compete but they just never put it together, it is kinda sad.

My cousin was a pro player in the red sox organization. Actually he is my wifes cousin. But guy knows his shit regardless. He was telling Me once u have hamstring issues like Reyes you are not the same player. Lose speed and not the same after it. Unfortunaltey for Reyes it looks like he is right.

Yea hamstrings linger along time, especially on guys who push their legs to the limit everytime they run. Can't heal when you're maxing out on every run.

Also I doubt they are shopping wright. Be so dumb to lose him. Mets are known for bad moves though.

Not shopping, but are listening on everyone. If someone blows them away with an offer I'd expect them to take it. Much like with Justin Upton, since when do 23 year old studs become available? He wasn't really unless someone drastically over paid.

Reyes and Beltran can go, but Wright stays. It's disappointing to hear that we can't sign anything this off season and it doesn't look like any trades will happen either. I would love to trade for Matt Garza, but that won't happen. Mets are in dire need of pitching.

Mets biggest problem is the owners, just wish they'd sell and hand it over to someone who is stable and willing to sign players and win.

Mets need to replenish their farm system it's bone dry. They are trying to get away from spending alot of money as they try to get over some bad contracts, Beltran and Bay. They are only listening on players for that reason, they have very little in the minors and their current roster isn't going to win anytime soon. Wright would bring a nice haul if they moved him with what his current contract is paying him. Prob would get 2 major league ready prospects and 2 high ceiling prospects, Beltran would bring 2-3 prospects, Reyes prob brings 3.

Really?

Fred Wilpon bought full control of the Mets in 2002, when an appraiser valued the club at $391M. Forbes magazine valued the club at $858M in April, 2010.

2010 payroll over 126 Million. As of October 23 already committed to over 108 Million only behind Philliy, Boston & New York. Spent less than 100 Million once since he has taken over and that was 96 Million.

Your owner is willing to spend which is always a plus.....I would say leadership is the problem with the Mets, not the owner.

I would hate to see Wright traded, it wouldn't be right.
