Post Mickey's Best Bet-it's a total

Ryan Dempster is the hurler for my Cubs. Through his first six starts he is 2-1 with a 4.86 ERA. He pitched at Milwaukee back on April 12th when he went six innings allowing four runs on six hits. Dempster picked up the victory in that game. Last season was a break out year for him as he had a record of 17-6. He started five games verse the Brewers which was more then he did against any other team. In those starts he went 4-0 with a 2.40 ERA. The Brew Crew only hit .213 against him as a team. The numbers don’t lie and the Cubs offense is potent enough to count on. Most teams would lay an egg after last nights debacle. This is a contending team though, expect a big performance from Dempster. The key factor hitting wise will be Mike Fontenot as Aramis is out for 4-6 weeks.

For Milwaukee they send Yovani Gallardo to the mound. Through his first six starts he is 3-1 with a 3.02 ERA. Coming off another major injury last year Milwaukee’s organization has high hopes for Gallardo and rightfully so. His stuff is electric.
The Cubs are 6-2 in their last eight Saturday games. The Brewers are 7-2 in their last nine home games. Milwaukee is 9-3 in their last 12 games following a win. In the head to head match ups these teams couldn’t be more even. Over the past 10 games they are 5-5 against one another. Without Aramis Ramirez the game is looked at differently.

Chicago's Ryan Dempster has a 5.25 ERA in four road starts this season, but since the start of the 2008 campaign he's 5-0 versus the Brewers with an ERA of 3.00.

Milwaukee, on a 13-4 run overall, has won each of Yovani Gallardo's last three starts, a stretch in which the righthander is personally 2-0 with a 1.88 ERA and 23 strikeouts in 24 innings pitched.

Tonights "Best Bet" is on: Under 8.5
