Mike Lowell to the Rangers

The Boston Red Sox have reached a preliminary agreement to trade third baseman Mike Lowell to the Texas Rangers for catcher Max Ramirez, according to a report on FoxSports. The deal is contingent, according to the report, on the players passing physicals and approval by Red Sox owners of absorbing a considerable chunk of Lowell's $12 million salary.

this makes absolutley no phucking sense........

the rangers have one of the best players in the game playing 3rd and they have to find out about Chris Davis at 1B once and for all.......even if Davis doesn't work out Smoak is on deck

maybe he can be a good clubhouse guy along with Visquel but outside of that makes zero sense to me

BE, Nick, Ran TT etc

Hows this Ramirez kid with the bat?? I know the Sox already said they are not going to use him as a catcher and he will be a 1b/dh in the near future. Obv he could be used in a trade down the line if the Sox dont have room for him. So my ques is I hear he has a really good bat, what do you hear on how does projects in the Majors?? Chance of being a good hitter?

I thought he was a top catching prospect at once. However, I think he has fallen off and is not the prospect he once was. I think he k's alot too.

Thats why I asked, I heard he will not be good enough for an everyday C, but has big potential in his bat. And seems like the Sox think so from what they say
