MLB 3* CHICAGO WHITE SOX ML -140

Yesterday we took the loss with the White Sox… and here we are taking them again, only difference is I like them even more tonight. I take the Cubs win as a fluke instead of the way this series will be going, which is with the –home- team winning it. Not only the Cubs are 3-9 in their L12 road games, they are also 3-7 in the *** meetings with their hometown rivals. That only adds to the fact that they loss in over 70% of their games after a victory, which is the case tonight.

On the other side of the equation we have a very solid team in terms on interleague play as the White Sox are 39-16 in their L55. Talking about pitching is also a positive for us as Buehrle while not spectacular he has been serviceable to say the least, that’s in general terms but at home things are different as he is 4-1 with a very good 2.59era. And that’s better than Garza who holds a 4.14era for the season that’s up to 5.62 in his L3 starts.

Take the White Sox

MLB 3* LOS ANGELES ANGELS @ FLORIDA MARLINS OVER 8 -120

An 8 as a total doesn’t go with both of these pitchers. Looking at their season ERA’s, 4.25 for Santana and 6.85 for Vazquez. But ok that’s not enough, let’s check their home/road splits, Santana on the road 4.91era, Vazquez at home 8.23era, looking good right? Now let’s go through their latest outings and history matchups. Santana is coming from a 121pitch game, right after a 116 game… the last time he went over 115 his stats look like this 6in 7hits 6runs. Not to make much from a game 6years ago but his only starts versus the Marlins was simply horrible… anyway.

Vazquez in his *** starts has a grand total of 2 quality outings, one versus dodgers and the other one versus rays, not precisely top of the list in batting average. He has allowed 4 or more runs in 7 of his *** games and it’s also important to notice that in 3games against LAA in 2010 he allowed 14runs and 20hits in just 14inning of work. I know theses lineups aren’t in the best form but these pitchers will help them to produce some runs.

Take the Over

MLB 3* WASHINGTON NATIONALS ML -130

To say that the Nationals are playing better is not fair; they are playing excellent baseball lately. 7-1 in their L8 home games and 8-1 overall, and while it’s true that the Mariners have been a pleasant surprise in holding a winning record and being in contention for the division they still rank at the bottom in batting average and hold a losing record on the road, not to mention that they are 3-8 in L11 as an underdog. While both teams rank near the bottom in offensive statistics the Nationals have been much better at home, holding a winning record and scoring 4.70rpg vs. rhp and batting .262, which is way better than the .227 and 3.42 the Mariners are putting in the card.

But if we take the ***games vs. things look even better with the Mariners batting .223 vs. rhp and producing 2.40rpg and the Nationals .275 and 5.40rpg.

Talking about pitchers our pick is looking even better. With Livan Hernandez showing some serious home/road splits working in our favor as he is 4-2 with a very respectable era of 1.97, coming from a really impressive 105pitches complete game versus the mighty offense of the Cardinals. In the meantime Fister appears to be struggling as he has allowed 4runs in his L2 games and needing 108pitches to go through 7in of work, a clear indication that he’s having a difficult time to put away batters. Tonight I like the team with the pitcher and offense in the right spot.

Take the Nationals.
