Mlb interleague sunday

This is pretty much a public fade here. I don't do public fades too much anymore. Hitting against Carpenter (7-1, 2.54 ERA) could prove a little more difficult. The right-hander is 2-0 with a 0.83 ERA in his last three starts, and fell just short of another win Tuesday night in Los Angeles despite one of his best efforts of the season. The Cardinals (34-28) enter the finale of this three-game set having dropped five of six to fall 1 1/2 games behind Cincinnati in the NL Central. They've been outscored 30-17 during the slump, batting .194 as a team and posting a 5.12 staff ERA. Their ERA before this stretch was a major league-leading 2.98.

His counterpart from that game, Edwin Jackson (3-6, 5.38), will also start Sunday. The Diamondbacks right-hander yielded four runs over eight innings in the April 21 loss, falling to 0-2 with a 3.72 ERA in three career starts versus the Cardinals. Seeing Jackson could help several slumping Cardinals. Yadier Molina (5 for 6), Colby Rasmus (4 for 6), Aaron Miles (3 for 7), Holliday (4 for 10) and Albert Pujols (3 for 9) have all had success against him, but the Cards are struggling and hitting the ball has been a challenge for them. I don' think it will e much different today.

SUNDAY NIGHT GAME

The White Sox look to extend their season high-winning streak to five Sunday when they got for their forst series sweep against the Cubs at Wrigley Feild in 11 seasons. Gavin Floyd will get the ball for the White Sox in the final game of the series. Floyd did not earn a decision in his last , But th right-hander delivered one of his strongest outing of the season, fanning eight batters and gave up i run in six innings in Tuesday's 7-2 loss to the Tigers. Floyd has been great on the hill during interleague posting a 5-1 record with a 2.13 ERA, in 8 interleague games, but it has been not only a rough road season for him but an overall rough year for Glavin as his record tells it all at 2-6. TheWhite Sox have dropped 9 of his 12 starts this year and has allowed 5 or more runs in 6 of his last 10 starts. Floyd has face the Cubs one othr time and it was one of his better starts pitching 7 innings allowing one run off 4 hits but the sox lost the game 5-6
The Cubs have lost 9 of 12 to fall eight games below .500 for the first time since June 07. Ted Lilly will counter for the Cubs, in hopes to prevent a windy city sweep for the Sox.
Lilly has been great thus far in the season but with his record at 1-5 you would never know. Run support has been Lilly's problem all year long. The Cubs have only given him 2 RPG in his last 3 starts and 3 RPG all season long. Lilly has allowed 3 runs or less in 7 of his last 9 starts including 2 shut-outs. He has been able to go deep into the game going 7+ innings in 5 of his last 6 starts, However, Lilly is winless at home thus far but the Cubs have won his last 2 games at Wrigley Feild. Ted has been lights out against the White Sox posting a 5-2 career record. With Floyd on the hill for the Sox the Cubs he sould be able to get back on track with a few runs on the board here.

that was a trap from hell. -140 with the line dropping to -135 with Carpenter on the hill who is 4-0 lifetime with a .83 ERA and a 7-1 record. Joe Pub was eating that line up. It was one of those they can't lose lines. I don't usually fade the public much any more but in a situation like this it was the right time.
