Mlb sunday late game

MATCH UP OF THE DAY

This should be a match up everyone who is either a Yankee fan or a Red Sox fan should be looking forward to. New York has won 39 of their last 53 games overall, and are 8-0 as an underdog thus far in the season. The Yankees are 9-3 in their last 12 road games, However they will face the Boston Red Sox, in which Fenway has not been the place of victory for them posting a 1-9 record there this year. C.C. Sabathia will get the call for the Yankees. He has been on a roll in his last 3 starts going 3-0 with a fabulous era of 1.14. His last start in Oakland was a beauty pitching 8 innings giving up only 2 earned runs off of 5 hits getting his 3 win in a row. Overall Sabathia owns a 14-7 record with a a 3.58 era. On the road, He is 9-5 with a 3.54 era. New York has won 9 of his 15 road starts this year. C.C. has faced the Red Sox twice this year and has a 1-1 record with a 2.45 era. Lifetime he is 3-5 with 3.57 era in 9 career games against Boston.
Boson will look to continue hitting as they put up 14 runs against the Yankees pitching staff last night as they shelled Burnett for 9 runs off 9 hits including 3 homers. Boston has dropped 5 of their last 6 games to the Rival Yankees but has been well against them at Fenway going 9-1. Josh Beckett will starts for the Red Sox. He was whaled on his last time out as The Blue Jays touched him up for 7 eraned runs off 9 hits in just 5.1 innings including 3 homers off the Red Sox ace, However The Red Sox ended up with the win in that game. Beckett overall has been the top pitcher in the Boston line up posting a 14-4 record with an era of 3.38. In his last 3 starts, dispite Beckett getting shelled in Toronto, He still manages to keep an era of 4.19 and a 1-0 record. 4 out of his last 10 starts were shut-out innings and 7 out of those 10where for 3 runs or less. Beckett has been the most dominant pitcher at home this year posting a perfect 8-0 record with an era of 2.58. The Red Sox have won 10 of Beckett's 11 home starts this year. Thus far in the season Boston has won 18 of his 24 starts overall. Beckett has faced the Yankees 4 times this year and has a 2-0 record with a 4.13 era. In his career against the Bronx Bombers Beckett holds a 9-4 record out of his 16 career starts against them. Beckett will shine today and help The Red Sox get back on track in the wild card race.

BOSTON RED SOX -124
