Alot of high Money Lines out there,so lets take the Run Line approach on these particular games that the Wiz likes.
PHI has won 10 of last 11 and in that stretch they have been scoring over 5 runs per game and only giving up 2 runs per game. On the other hand SD has been pitiful scoring only 2 runs per game over last 13 losing 11 of those games. No choice really but to go with the run lines today with the rich juice all around the league tonight. However, I really like this matchup and the money line has moved 50 points in favor of the Phillies since opening. I really think you will see Hamels throw one of his best games. Why? Mainly because he has been on spot as of late yes he has a 3.50 ERA over last 3 not that impressive, but only 1BB (his kryptonite) in 18IP with 13K's is really impressive. He'll face the worse hitting team in the league in the Padres on revenge here tonight as his only match up this year against the Padres came in the beginning of the year when 1.) Hamels was struggling 2.) Padres were hot with Adrian Gonzalez hitting all those HR's and he pitched 6IP gave up 5ER. Tonight much has changed in his previous 5 career starts against the Padres he has a 2.40 ERA and he'll face their worst lineup yet. On the hill for the Padres is Kevin Correia who has pitched well, but he's got not much of a chance here against the sizzling Phillies who lost yesterday, but should be ready to win here tonight. Correia in 1 start vs. Philly this year went 4.1IP gave up 10H 4ER 3BB on 2HR. The Phillies have a team batting average of .333 vs. Correia. Despite their now .500 record at home the Phillies are averaging 5.42 runs per 9 innings at home vs. RHP. If they score 5 they should win by 4 or 3 easily. Additionally the Phillies are 11-1 L12 as favorites and 5-1 L6 vs. RH starters at home. Of their 24 home wins 79% of them have come by more than 1 run while the Padres have lost 69% of their away games by more than 1 run. If we are speaking statistics only we have a great shot of covering the run line. Good Luck Mallers. Philadelphia-1.5 RL Pittsburgh at Arizona ( Baseball System) PLAY AGAINST road underdogs like Pittsburgh with a money line of +175 to +250, with a team batting average .250 or worse over their last 20 games, against opponent with sizzling starting pitcher, who has WHIP of 1.000 or less over his last five starts. Good gravy, this system is 54-4, 93.1 percent. Dan Haren, need i say more? he is 10-5 with an MLB-best 1.96 ERA, but he hasn’t allowed more than two earned runs in a game since May 28, a span of 10 starts. Arizona is 5-2 in Haren’s last seven home starts – where the right-hander has a 1.70 ERA on the year – and those five victories have come by scores of 2-0, 7-2, 5-2, 8-1 and 8-0 (thus, all covered the run-line). The Pirates are 16-33 on the road and is 18-43 on the highway since last September. Pittsburgh is just 1-4 in its last five games in the desert & Pittsburgh is batting only .239 on the road this year. Arizona-1.5 RL Oakland at NY Yankees ( Baseball Trend/System ) #1:The New York Yankees are 12-0 in home games after allowing four runs or less four straight games over the last two seasons, winning by and average of 4.2 runs per game in next contest. #2: Play on home favorites of -140 or higher off a home game where they scored 5 or more runs and their opponent is also off a home game where they won by 5 or more runs and scored 10 or more runs. The Yanks have CC.Sabathia going tonight against an Oakland team that struggles vs leftys this year, hitting just .229.Oakland is just 2-11 as a road dog from +225 to +250.The Yanks are 5-0 as a home favorite from -225 to -250 and 14-5 at home when the total is 9 to 9.5.Oakland also srtuggles against winning teams going 16-35. Oakland has lost 4 of his 5 road starts this year and his era over his last 3 starts is an elevated 7.07.These home favs such as the Yanks are 8-0 and win by an average 8-1 score. Lets look at the total on this game shall we: The A’shave been crushing the ball the last 3 to 4 days on only a few homeruns, they have been smaking the ball all around the damn place. It seems their finding their grove. Vin Mazzaro (2-6, 4.09) takes the hill for the A’s, and he’s simply been awful his last 5 starts, pitching to an 0-5 record with a 6.48 ERA. The Yankees send their ace, CC Sabathia (9-6, 3.66) to the mound & the Yanks have been on a win streak & scoring runs themselves.I should think that the "A's" can score 4-5 runs on the Yanks & the Bronx Bombers to score 5 or so themselves. NY Yankees-1.5 RL & Over the total 9 St Louis at Washington Washington’s last two victories came against a banged-up sub-500 Mets team. This team is still in disarray & in the building mold.On the rubber for the cards is Adam Wainwright, a pitcher with 10 wins on the season and a 1.60 ERA over his last five starts. On the rubber for the nats is Balester, whom went just 3-7 with a poor 5.51 ERA in 15 starts for Washington last year. This season, he’s been pitching at Triple-A and has gone just 7-9 with a 4.35 ERA in 19 starts for Syracuse. Wainwright has faced the Nats 3 times in his career which were good starts, recording a 2.86 ERA.I can talk all day about this but all in all the Nats are the Nats & not in the same catagory as the Red Birds, need i say more,NO. St Louis-1.5 RL
