Boston got the lucky win yesterday as Lester and Co. beat the Rays 8-4. Josh Beckett will take the hill for The Red Sox. He has had major problems as of late as his era has soared up to almost 10 in his last 3 starts posting an 0-1 record in that span. Beckett has been above average on the road holdinga 6-4 record with an era just over 4.00. Overall his record has shown dominace posting a 14-5 record with a 3.80 era with Boston winning 10 of his 26 starts this season. Beckett has a 6-4 lifetime record against Tampa Bay. The Rays got the rare home loss last night, but look to redeem theirselves today. They have been a great home team this year posting a 37-15 record at Tropicana this year. The Rays will send Matt Garza to the hill who has had his own problems as well. His last start was a complete cotastrophie giving up 6 earned runs in 5 innings. Garza's last 3 starts have not been impressive posting an 0-1 record with an elevated 5.29 record. Record wise, he owns a 4-4 record with a 3.26 era. Tampa Bay has been one of the few teams that have dominated The Red Sox. posting a 16-5 record in Tropicana when facing the Red Sox, However , their dominace has continued behind Garza as they are 9-5 in Tampa when he takes the hill. Garza has been a great competitor for Boston as he is 2-0 thus far this season with a 1.88 era. Overall The Rays have won 7 of 8 games when Garza faces the Red Sox. Overall he owns a 5-1 lifetime record against Boston. Pitchers when struggling do really well against teams they have had geat success against it a great spot for Garza to redeem himself from his last 3 starts and show that the Rays have a chance to stay in this wildcard race. I'm backing the Rays here with Garza.
