Mlb weekend betting: Three games to look at this weekend

Now that the All-Star celebrations are over it is time to focus on the second half of this outstanding season. Nick Shiambouros previews three games that will be shown live on ESPN America this weekend.

Saturday
New York Yankees v Toronto Blue Jays
The great C C Sabathia will start for the Yankees. This lefty has a record of 13-4 and an ERA of just 2.72.Sabathia has been one of the most dominant pitchers in the AL during the first half of the season. He comes in to this fixture on a six game winning streak and will be very tough to handle.
Ricky Romero will be on the hill for the Blue Jays. This young left-hander has a record of 7-8 and an ERA of 3.09. Romero's win-loss record is nothing to write home about but his other numbers rank very highly indeed.
I fully expect the Yankees to take care of Toronto in this one. New York have a decent divisional record at 15-13 and are starting one of the hottest pitchers in baseball. They should be backed at around [1.7] in the match odds market.

Saturday
Philadelphia Phillies v New York Mets
The Phillies will start Cole Hamels who has a record of 11-4 and an ERA of just 2.32. This left-hander is pitching at a very high level and is already a candidate for the Cy Young award. He has a wicked fastball and an excellent slider that is almost impossible to hit when working well.
Jon Niese will start for New York. This left-hander has a record of 8-7 and has an ERA of 3.88.Niese has a losing record of 1-2 against the Phillies this year which is an interesting statistic.
Philadelphia lead the NL East with a record of 57-34, holding an 11 game advantage over the Mets who are in third place. I think the Phillies will be tough to beat in this divisional clash. They have a divisional record of 27-15 and are 17-8 against left-handed pitchers.
The Phillies should trade around [1.7] in the match odds market.

Sunday
Los Angeles Dodgers v Arizona
