more underachieveing team

if someone knows how to make a poll put it up

Phillies
Cubs

Phils are in first place cuz the Nats and the Mets stink
Cubs were one of the faves to win the NL beginning of the year

I say Philly there starting pitching is horrible wich leads to overworking there pen.

I don't think it will happen, but I wouldn't be suprised if Atlanta won the NL East. If the Mets were healthy they would be my pick, but...

Probably going to come down the last week. Don't think Philly runs away with it. After Hamels its pretty ugly. Blanton is a servicable starter, but Moyer, Happ, and Bastardo don't give me much confidence in the Phils making the playoffs. Bullpen looking shaky aslo. If the bats go cold for a few weeks lookout.

philly better deal for an ace that can go deep every game or they are fkd. That offense cant and wont carry the team all season.

Jake would have been great, but we all know his value dropped to a bag of batting practice balls.

I know one team who has a pitcher named Jose C, who is available, cause they ain't going anywhere, and probably for just 2 dozen new balls because his salary is hefty.

Cubs can only improve from where they are.

Bob your quote could apply to the Reds as well. The NL Central will go back and forth all summer between Brew Crew, Cards, Cubs & Reds. The team through all this that has surprised me in the Central are the Brewers. Thought w Sheets and CC gone they'd fade. As for the East I still think Philly makes a move before it's over and takes it.

IMO, the thing that will jump up and grab Milwaukee is defense, or lack of it,which in turn takes a toll on the pitching. But the others I agree, season long race

Philly needs pitching. The jays swept em and pounded em, the orioles hit em pretty hard last night. Without pitching this team is going to need to put up 6 or 7 runs a night to have a chance. Jake is still worth going for now, the padres will be asking a little less for a team willing to take a risk.

Phillies need starters. If they dont they have no shot at repeating. I mean Blanton, Bastardo, Moyer, Happ?? LOL Plus ROllins is like the NL Big Papi, but unlike Ortiz he'snot showing any signs of coming out. Plus the Sox have the best pen in MLB and as deep of a rotation as they come. Phils have neither.

Phils almost need a Peavy type SP or their history pal

Hus, J Roll starting to heat up.... I hope...

Moyer needs to be put out to pasture... seriously.

I would say Cubs are more under-achieving

another money post dead on Hus cannot argue one bit. They have one of the best lineups in baseball but the pitching is destroying them. Would like to see the Phils get a Halladay but I think the Phils are going to make a play for Cliff Lee which I would take in a min.
