For it or against it?
Being proposed is a 2nd wildcard in each league, and the 2 wild cards have a 3 game "play in round" to join the 3 division winners. It would make pennant races like the Yankees and Rays this season matter a bit more, when the winner gets 4 days off to set their rotation, get some rest, etc. Would mean less wild card teams winning it all, which seems to happen alot lately On the other hand, it makes for even more playoff teams, when baseball of course always wants to live in the dark ages with as few playoff teams as possible. Which would you prefer? |

what? playoffs is what is best about any sport..now you wanna eliminate that and just say team with best record win? that would eliminate prob 4 more teams at the end of year with nothing to play for and make baseball much more boring..

As a Jays fan, I am in full agreement to add another wild card. Being in a division with both the Yanks & Sox, it is very tough to get excited about the prospects of making the playoffs. Add in another wild card, I think it opens it up big time & will create more excitement across the leagues.
