I never saw what greatness was in this business till GG went on a 37-4 run in MLB top plays July, 2015.

My vote is Giants. 19 games below 500. Cubs a close second but expectations were way high, after all they are the Cubs, one good season in 119 does not raise the expectations of the nation, only Chicago.

besides the cubs record being only .500 they are in a weak division, giants division might have 3 playoff teams.

No doubt Cubs are in turmoil this year. Can not argue that. But 19 games below 500 at halfway point puts them much further off pace for season win total than Cubs. ALso Giants division Rockies and DBacks over achieving.

Definitely a mighty fall for the Cubbies, but imo, which means nothing, Giants definitely further down the ladder. Cubs would be my second choice.

The Cubs will still win their division. Look for them to spend the dough. On a Verlander, Gerrit Cole type to shore up the pitching.

Cubs are NOT trading for Verlander, no way, not a 34 year old pitcher with a ton of miles on him making 28M next year and 29M in 2019 for a one game playoff. Their pitching staff is already the oldest in baseball, can see a younger pitcher with cost control though. Cubs are the biggest disappointment this far

Cubs, but expected drop. No W S teams made the playoffs the following year, in the last 4. Why should they be different?

I agree with ANDRE, but if they can move Zo in the deal, do it. The last 3 weeks pitching has been much better.

Schwarber batting 5th today, and thankfully Zo is on the bench

How about the cubs are trailing 9-0 in the 3rd inning right now to the brewers, if that isn't disappointing i don't know what is.

Technically, the most disappointing is team is whichever team is the latest one I bet on, and they lost (the fukers.)

Overall though, for me, it's the Orioles.
As a fan I had no expectations coming in, wild card maybe but not likely.
They come out gangbusters in April, right up there with any team in either league,
they hang tough first week of May, and then . . . collapse.
Teasers, like they lifted their skirt, flashed the goods, then said, "Nuh-uh."

As for Verlander to the Cubs, well, of course the answer is 'no' if you're looking at it strictly from a team contribution POV.
But sometimes you have to think bigger picture. If I owned the team I would make that trade today; it's a no-brainer.
Anything that gets you closer to Kate Upton has to be the right move, no?

I guess Stroman convinced every pitcher on the team that they have "blisters" from the new balls they use this year. And they have the audacity to get all uppity because they didn't make the all-star team.
