Mt. Rushmore of MLB

If you could pick 4 guys to go on the Mt. Rushmore of MLB, who would they be?

I'll go with ........

Ted Williams
Babe Ruth
Mickey Mantle
Jackie Robinson

Damn, could use so many guys but that is what I will go with!

Arguably the toughest sport to pick. Concur with your 4,

but a case could be made for Gehrig / DiMaggio.

The oldtimers have such reverential status that the modern day players (although deserving) may never attain.

Precisely.

Actually you need a different Mt. Rushmore for each decade, and it would be

quality-filled.

Mays needs to be on any list.

Pedro the best pitcher I have ever seen pitch and one of the all time greats.

I'll give this some more thought and have a better answer later in the week.

hard to beat waynes picks

to me, its a matter of do you go with the best players , period, of the icon's , meaning longevity as well

best hitter is probably tony Gwynn
best pitcher is possibly Koufax
some were all around , defense, offense like Mike Schmidt
but as far as Mt Rushmore goes I have to go the icon way

Mantle
Ruth
Williams
Dimaggio

Rith
Mays
Bonds
Williams

If you have to include a pitcher, I am unsure

Koufax, CLemens, or Martinez
