Sounds like he will be getting 4 years/$52 million

Think I would rather have Madson at 4 years/$44 million myself

Wondeing what Phils fans think

wasnt a waste of money rev???? ... they had to sign someone!!!!

madson was a free agent!!

like gerk said, it was either madson or papelbon ... they rumored to have a 4 year, 44 mil deal with madson earlier this week, but apparently it fell through... so they only spent an extra $8mil over 4 years ... not that much buddy.

very torn about this signing ... i am hoping that a new team and a new scene (not to mention the veteran help from Doc, Cliff, etc) will help him and get him back to the way he used to be.

i do, however, think it was time for him to leave Boston

Sad to see Paps leave, but a lot of money for a closer. There lifespan is like that of a running back. Don't understand why the Phillies wouldn't just keep Madson and worry about there offensive woes. Signing doesn't make 100% sense.

Well Philly fans enjoy an extra 30 minutes to each game and games where he loads the bases with no outs.
