Yea but it's on the "backburner" for right now. Prob gonna find a cheap platoon type RF later in free agency. I was kinda hoping they got Frenchy, I think he could be a producer in our lineup with little pressure, like he did in Tex. They have watched Webb throw a few times and have talked to his agent. I really want them to get him, maybe 1 year 7-8 mil. When Brandon Webb is your 4, you're stacked. If he's healthy he's a perfect fit with his heavy sinker in our ballpark. |

He's had 2 years to recover and started pitching back in August. He will prob lose some velocity but all he needs is his sinker. Everyone has been saying how hard he's been working to come back, but I'm sure alot of that has to do with getting some money this year, having a good year, and trying to get a multi year big contract in 2012. It's worth the risk because he's money driven and wants to pitch good in 2011.
Phils need another pitcher, Kendrick is awful. Wang is also a low risk high reward type too with his sinker and has been out for 2 years, also has a strong sinker which is good for CBP. Last edited by Seanie Mac; 12-11-2010 at 02:13 PM. |

Why wouldnt you want one of the best young pitchers in baseball? That's silly.

Th guy has stated before he does not want to pitch in a big city he has some kind of panic disorder.

He was suffering from some kind of anxiety and depression but Im pretty sure he has it under control now. He wouldn't be under much pressure here as the #3 or #4. I'll take him in a second, he's filthy and still getting better. Phils don't have 1/4 of what it would take to get him anyway.

im not doubting the guys skills one bit as he is obv a stud and young but he also never pitched in a pressure situation and he has taken time off in 2 different years because he couldnt cope. He would prob be a 4 which ur right after running Big Joe out there i would expect 13-14 wins from him which is highly attainable but the asking piece was Dom brown and they still dont have a RF

We just don't have enough, they want 3-4 high ceiling prospects. Phils have some money to spend I hope they make a little splash or something. I'd like to see them give Dom a legit shot at playing everyday and see them put money towards a high reward pitcher like a Brandon Webb or maybe Rich Harden.

A Halladay, Hamels, Oswalt, Webb, Blanton rotation is just flat out nasty and should be good for 60+ wins right there.

U follow the minors alot more than i do i no singleton is a nice prospect but he isnt coming up at first and supposedly they have some real nice players that r 5 years out in single a. Thats not going to get u much right now. I want brown to get a shot but i really dont see them doing anything big. Hope im wrong cuz they still do have some holes
