Phils!!!

Facing a Left hander today they have 4 lefty's in linup against an above average pitcher. Utley hasn't hit since coming back from injury and was not hitting before injury. Howard has maybe 1 hit this series with 7or 8 strikeouts.
These subs for the Phils were hitting the ball and scoring while Utley,Victorino, and Howard and even Rollins were hurt. Manuel needs to sit some of these guys even if they were allstars. 4 lefty's in lineup against another lefty is stupid. Counting the pitcher thats 5 weak bats in the lineup.
Give your team a chance Manual!!! I'm sick of seeing Howard strike out with curves in the dirt or a mile outside. Ruiz,Sweeney and Francisco should have started today!!!

Howard either strikes out or hits it 450 feet, there doesnt seem to be much in between.

Apparently that type of production is what 19 million dollars buys nowadays!

My problem is this and I have watched almost every phils game this year.
I know the Phils have had a lot of injuries. Charlie M. is a players manager.
The Phils hit the ball at the very beginning of the year then they stopped hitting, this was with Rollins hurt mostly. After starting fast Utley went downhill then he got hurt. Howard was probably one of their best hitters staying around 290-300 and at the top of the league in RBI's. Worth was so,so but with runners in scoring position was horrible. Since the allstar break he has got his avg to 300. Polanco very steady 300 hitter and great defender. Ibanez has turned it on in the 2nd half. Ruiz killed it early then got hurt and has turned it back on lately hitting around 300.
Since the allstar break their non allstars turned it on getting on base and did whatever it took to win. With good pitching. Then Charlie puts 3 players back in within a week and they go back to where they were before the break, taken away all their momentum.
When was the last time you saw Rollins or Victorino try a bunt. I can't remember 1 time all year. Guys have all this speed and don't use it. When your not hitting you try anything to get out of it. Bunt, hit and run, etc. Seems all some of their guys do is swing for the fences. The manager needs to manage sometime no matter how many veterans you have on your team.
I know I'm venting but these veterans are wasting alot of their talent and not using others in baseball situations.

You sound like a diehard phils fan...i live in pa. but only root for them when theres a buck riding on the (no fight in the fightin phils)...safe to say milt thompson was merely a scapegoat for the inept offensive performance earlier on...it's here we go again time as the funk has returned...short lived offensive production with greg gross as the hitting guru...and as you stated it is hard to rationalize with seemingly all of the studs healthy that the whole team would collectively struggle at the plate...great observation about rollins and victorino and in the case of victorino he seems to have lost his composure at the plate as he cannot lay off of high fastballs...don't have to add anything regarding that idiot werth, as you know you suck balls when someone deems it necessary to create a thread in your honor with the sole purpose being to trash your sorry ass...this is the 1st four game sweep at home since 2002 and if i heard correctly today was the 107th consecutive sellout at citizens...philly fans definitely deserve better
