New regime encourages losing as they want to completely rebuild via the draft and international signings. Pirates spend money just not on free agents, I think they spent the most in the draft

hoping MLB forces sale of the team to new owners, maybe someone like the Lemieux Group who allready has offered numerous times to buy the team.....

Bob Nutting, would make a great porn name, thats about it.

Yes they are making a profit again this year thanks to the revenue sharing.
They are not commited to winning by any means and probably will not be ever.

Bottom line is, the Mc Nuttings are not the right owners for the Pirates.

nothing to do with owners, it had to do with having one of the worst GMs in the history of baseball.

who do you want them to spend money on? Nate McClouth? The sad fact is they have traded three players who were any good (Rajai, Bautista, and Gorzelanny) and none of the three were playing well when they were shipped (and none of the three were dealt for financial reasons!) It is easy to say "they trade all their good players" but really they are dumping overrated players who look like superstars by comparison to the rest of the lineup for prospects.....the problem is that the prospects aren't developing fast enough and good enough to turn things around.....this team started the 18 years of losing with bad contracts to mediocre players and for the fans who think throwing money at bums is the problem, this would only ensure continued losing......

Well their previous majority owner Littlefield or some shit was cheap and his GM McClatchey I think was awful in the draft, mostly under orders to not draft unsignable players

But their new maj owner hired Neil Huntington who is a great talent evaluator and they are committed finally to spending on draft picks

Team will be relevant by 2013

Littlefield's finest moments were turning down a trade offer of Ryan Howard for Kris Benson one year, and Ryan Howard for Kip Wells the next and drafting Bryan Bullington over B.J. Upton, Prince Fielder, Zack Greinke, Khalil Greene, Scott Kazmir, Nick Swisher, Matt Cain, Cole Hamels and Jeff Francoeur.......
