Clint Hurdle is a good manager if you ask me. He took an average Rockies team to a World Series. Could be worse

since so many multi-winning-season managers are trying to get this job, maybe they should have held out

I gotta agree here! It's not like prime candidates are beating on the door trying to get this job......

Unless they can either hang onto their young talent and/or spend some cash it won't really matter who manages the club.

Probably right but at least he's a name with some post season experience. Ive heard players like to play for him.

Who's applying that was a better choice?

I don't think Joe Torre could turn this team around or do much with it. They have to spend the dough, it is that simple.

surprised they don't just let one of their players manage...would save money and probably couldn't do any worse

Don't need to spend any money imo....There are a lot of small-market teams that do it without spending money. We just need someone with a clue on pitchers to draft. They supposedly got 2 really good ones this draft, but I heard that before. Not saying we can be a dynasty or need Cliff Lee, but you give me some decent SP for a few years and this team is pretty talented offensive wise.
