Can the Astros score against Tommy Hanson and the Atlanta Braves? They've been hard-pressed to do so in the past, as the right-hander is 2-0 with an ERA of 0.90 against them. Hanson gets the top spot for Sunday, just ahead of Felix Hernandez, who is 7-2 with a 2.71 career ERA versus the Detroit Tigers. It's close, but King Felix's opponent, Rick Porcello, is 3-0 with a 2.96 ERA facing the Seattle Mariners, so Hernandez drops to second. … Daniel Hudson has a .243 batting average against on the road, 40 points better than at home, and the Florida Marlins are hitting just .229 during the past two weeks. … Jon Lester has won 8 of 12 decisions against the Toronto Blue Jays and has kept his ERA down to 3.59 in the process. He gets the nod over a pair of up-and-coming youngsters, Jordan Zimmermann and Philip Humber. … Ubaldo Jimenez has a stellar matchup against the Los Angeles Dodgers, but even though he shut them out on June 1, he's gone just 3-6 against them since 2009. … Roy Oswalt can't seem to beat the Chicago Cubs with any regularity despite a 3.82 ERA in close to 200 career innings pitched against the team. Considering he hasn't won since April 21 and has gotten only 3.84 runs of support per game in 2011, this is little more than a toss-up. … Brian Matusz may pitch only six innings as he slowly gets back into the mix, which leaves little room for error. Still, you have to like his 3-1 record against the Tampa Bay Rays. … Francisco Liriano threw way too many pitches -- he needed 81 to get through five innings -- in his return from the disabled list. We're erring on the side of caution with him. Still, he's better than his mound foe, Matt Harrison, who owns a 9.64 ERA in games facing the Minnesota Twins. … Poor track records to note: Chris Capuano is 3-7 with a 6.54 ERA against the Pittsburgh Pirates, Edinson Volquez has a career ERA of 8.31 versus the San Francisco Giants and Brett Myers is a sad 4-10 against the Atlanta Braves with a 4.43 ERA. … Lastly, any time a pitcher allows six earned runs in five innings and lowers his ERA to 17.47? Say hello to No. 30, Mr. Mazzaro

Spin: There doesn't appear to be any specific injury here. Rather, it's most likely a 39-year-old getting a day off. Brandon Hicks will get the start in Jones' place.
