Wink Plays of the day

Cubs at Astros

The Cubs are 3-8 in their last 11 road games. Houston as stated above is 7-3 in their last 10 games. In the head to head area, Chicago is 7-1 against the Astros on the road in their last eight games. Expect that to be 8-1 after tonight. Lilly will pitch well and the Cubbies will unload on Moehler.Cubs starter Ted Lilly has beaten Houston five straight times and is 5-1 lifetime with a 3.22 ERA in eight starts against the Astros, who are on a 6-2 uptick heading into today’s home contest.

Gotta go with my CUBS

San Diego at LA Dodgers

The Dodgers are 39-20 on the year and if you ask me, have not lost a step with out Manny. They are fresh off key come back wins against Philadelphia in their last series. Juan Pierre continues to take advantage of Manny’s absence as Loney and Ethier have been clutch all year long. Stats are spread out here as Kemp, Loney, Ethier, Blake and Hudson all have provided 25+ RBIs while Russell Martin has been great in the field. Tonight ace Chad Billingsley takes the mound to show off his all star stuff. He is 7-3 with a 2.59 ERA. In his two starts against San Diego this season he is 2-0 with a 2.77 ERA holding the Padres as a team to a .140 batting average. They also get San Diego coming off a series against Arizona where they had an 18 inning game. Dodgers in a big way tonight.

The Dodgers, hosting the Padres, are 9-3 backing Chad Billingsley this year, and the righthander is 4-1 with a 1.45 ERA in his five career home outings against San Diego.

Los Angeles has won nine of its last 10 home games against San Diego, including a four-game sweep earlier this season.

San Diego are 6-18 in their last 24 Tuesday games. The Padres are 17-36 in their last 53 road games. The Dodgers are 43-17 in their last 60 games as a favorite. Any questions?

The boys in blue: LA Dodgers
