POD kicks off at 3 o clock! Write up included.

Today I am rolling with the Cincy Reds against the Atlanta Braves and i will tell you why...

3x Cincy -125

Homer Bailey has been kind of inconsistent in his career, but he is not inconsistent at home as the Reds are 17-5 in Homers last 22 home starts.

Homer is 3-1 with a 2.39 ERA a 1.10 WHIP and allows teams just a .274 OBP in his home starts this year. Another plus here is that the Braves have never faced Bailey giving him a little advantage. Another thing is motivation to get this middle game after losing last night. Because you have to think tomorrow will be tough with Beachy going against Dontrelle Willis. I would think this game will be kind of important in that aspect as you certainly do not want to get swept at home being a "supposed" playoff caliber team.

We oppose Derek Lowe who is in the midst of trade rumors so hard telling where his head is at. One thing i know about Lowe is that he doesnt pitch late into games. He's pitched into the 7th inning ONCE in his last 18 starts. That means you are going to need some of your bullpen to step up and Venters has pitched 3 straight days (cant see him going today IMO) and Kimbrel has pitched two days in a row (not a huge concern) but still you add in the heat and i cant see Lowe being around for more than 6 innings.

I have to believe the reds even up the series here and probably know they're giving one away tomorrow with the huge pitching disadvantage.

1x Minnesota Twins -132

This one is just a head scratcher.

You have Scott Baker coming off the DL.
He's been jacked up this year against DET.
DET has won 5 straight at Target Field and have outscored them 43-22 in those games.
DET has won 12 straight against Minny overall.

DET'S bats are pretty hot.
Theyve taken the first two games of this series.
Ordonez, Miggy and Vmart are hitting 387 with 6 homers off of Baker.

But the twins are favored at a pretty good amount?

It looks as if the linemakers are tipping their hand and giving you the Tigers on a silver platter today at plus money. I look for Minnesota and Scott Baker (whos fantastic at home) to play well here and cash this ticket.

However, i personally feel like this is a higher unit wagered game. BUT im going one unit JUST in case so i don't wipe out the Reds winner.

2x Boston RL -1.5 @ -137

This might be SQUARE city and i might regret it (doubtful), but im going to add Red Sox runline -1.5 against Seattle tonight.

Beckett and the Sox offense, well you know all about that. Mariners have a kid they received in the Cliff Lee trade in Blake Beavan.

He actually has decent stats for his first 3 starts.
He is 1-1 with 2.70 era and 0.96 whip.
Has not given up more than 3 runs in any of those starts.

But its fools gold.

His AAA stats the last two years show batters are hitting .329 and .301 respectfully. That's against AAA players. I firmly believe his success so far has been tied into clubs not being familiar with him. I think against Boston that gets you nowhere with so many good hitters.

This guy is also a guy that throws a fastball almost every time to start the sequence. If i can figure that out....im sure the sox can too.

So it really boils down to can this sox team get to Beavan.

BLAZE thinks so and is willing to put his money where his mouth is.
