Quality play in bases, disappearing?
Of course I see a lot of the Chicago teams and both are dreadful. Last night I watched the Cards/Milwauee game, and I couldn't believe some of the bad play. Bases juivced, GB to Fielder, he comes home, high throw, catcher is up the line, out of position, runner safe and the flood gates were opened.
There were extra bases taken by slow runners , pressuring the defense and working. I have seen catchers really messing up with gloves turned the wrong way, creating passed balls!!!! Maybe it is just me, but I don't recall what I would deem "bad play" in the past. Anyone else feel the same? |

Seeing games with same stuff mentioned and also teams with double the hits losing by three or four. No more fundamentals being taught across the board in sports.

Tigers yesterday made 2 errors in the bottom of the 9th up 1 with 2 outs and nearly gave the game away. It could have been a slick ball on a slick field since it rained the whole night but that's still a bit odd. They held on anyways.

seen some pretty sloppy bases this year, ask the Mets last night, I'll take that one though..lol...but the fundamentals have gone by the wayside it seems and some silliness creeping into the game, most notably to me of late is the stealing 3rd with two out when the batter has a hitter's count on him....strange shit....certainly against the norm of year's gone by.... not sure if it's times a changin' or that the old fundamentals aren't deemed as strategic keys to abide by anymore....hard to say
