I think instead of betting the over for the game, I may very well play the over for the first five innings because of the way I believe the game may play out.
On the other hand, I may split my bet between the first half and game also to be "safe."

Price needs to show he can step up and give us hopefully a solid 6 innings today

I am REALLY worried about tonight's game.
I hope I am wrong of course, but I fear a blowout game for the Yankees tonight.
Don't worry though-I am wrong plenty of times-lets hope tonight is one of those times.
ps The more I see of this Houston team, the more I am convinced that they have the best balance of any team out there and are a good bet to repeat as champions.
For the Sox to have any chance at all, someone in the bp has to step up big time-if not kiss any hopes goodbye.

I think the sox definitely have a chance, its sox/yanks so it will be a tight series that leads one to think the yankees win tonight. The astros are a very good team and it would be a fun series if the sox get there.

Imo it almost imperative that they win tonight, because for lots of reasons they are going to have a lot of trouble snagging a game in New York and especially if they are tied in the series going there meaning that they have lost the all important HFA.

I am not surprised at all at the start of this game.
Imo from here on in this series anyways, Price should be used ONLY in relief at best.
They can't fall any further behind or imo for all intents and purposes, the game will be over.

One further important comment here:
When the Sox swept that four gamer series from the Yankees earlier this season, noth Judge and Sanchez were injured and did not play.
You saw what they did tonight.
These two also had some great games against the Sox last season at Fenway.
I am afraid to say that unless the pitching staff find a way to stop these guys along with Stanton and the rest of the lineup, this series could very well end in New York with the Yankees moving on.

No matter how this series/season ultimately turn out, the only sure thing is that the Sox bullpen and the last third of the batting lineup are problems which need to be addressed badly over during the offseason.
Asking basically Betts, JD, Benintendi, Bogaerts, Sale and Kimbrel to get it done again and achieve anywhere near the regular season record they did this season, is a tall order indeed.

I agree with this article 100%:

After another colossal playoff failure, what’s next for David Price?

Imo they should be favored and if anything a bigger favorite over the Sox than Yankees for the simple reason that imo the Yankees are better balanced than the Sox when all of their players are healthy.
Don't forget it took all seven games for the Astros to defeat the Yankees last year in the playoffs.

I would be shocked if the Sox lose tonight in New York but win game 4 to bring the series back to Boston.
In short for me this is a make or break game for the Sox tonight.
The Yankees were undefeated in the playoffs at home last year and won the playoff game against Oakland this season.
In short, it is going to be a formidable task for Sox to win a game there and especially so if they lose tonight.

How the Hell can you call this a homer thread when essentially all I have done is cast doubts about the Sox chances and the reasons why?
Did you even take the team to read my posts or did you simply assume that because I am a Sox diehard, my posts are one sided and say only kind things about the Sox/
If the latter is true, I strongly suggest you go back and read what at least I have said re: the Sox before you make untrue, unfounded and silly statements such as you just did.

It looks like its over for Cleveland.
The only sure thing is that whether it be the Yankees or the Sox that Houston faces in the next round, they will have to play at their very best to have a chance, and this applies even more to the Sox because of their weak and inconsistent bp, which the Astros can easily exploit to their advantage.
Wow-10-2 now, and the game is at Cleveland!!

It looks like it will be Milwaukee and the Dodgers in next round, and imo that's what it should be as both are clearly better than Colorado and Atlanta at this juncture.
I am quite sure Colorado and Atlanta will both be in the hunt next year as both teams are young and have plenty of developing and established talent.
