Sorry-didn't see this in time.
Re: the total, I have no opinion either way.
Good luck!

Personally I would take Eovaldi out now in the seventh inning-if the bp can't this kind of a lead, the Sox are in deep trouble.
The big reason though is that imo if this series does go the full five, he may need to pitch at some point in the game on Thursday, which means that they shouldn't use him tonight any more than they have to tonight.

Kudos on the over-I am shocked beyond belief that after losing that Saturday game to the Yankees, they could march into NY and not only win but by the score you see.
Just remember it is one game and one game only, and something tells me that the Yankees are going to come out super pissed off tomorrow night after getting totally humiliated and embarrassed on national tv and in front of their own fans.
I won't be surprised at whatever happens tomorrow except another Sox blowout.

I can't argue that after tonight, although over the many years I have watched and bet on baseball, I have seen lots of instances where after a ton of runs are scored, the next day you get a 2-1 or 3-2 game.
I will just watch and hope that the Yankees don't turn the tables on the Sox tomorrow which is a distinct possibility.

MCP-Knowing the history of these two teams and what can and does happen many times after a blowout, it wouldn't surprise me if the Yankees win tonight and force game 5.

The only sure thing for me is that after last night's total Sox rout, if the Yankees win tonight and the deciding game in Boston, there are going to be a lot of pissed off and disappointed Sox fans including me!

Not so fast-now 3-0 with a long way to go.
This could easily go over.
Hopefully, it will go over for you because of the Sox and not the Yankees. lol

Looks like I need the Sox to take it to the over Yanks not helping.

Again don't be so sure.
If and when Porcello comes out, the bp will take over, and as we all know, that is usually an adventure.

If the Sox bring in Barnes, the chances of your over winning go up dramatically and the chances of the Sox winning the game also decrease dramatically.

Imo if Cora is smart, he will have a quick hook with Barnes if he fails provided that it is not already too late.
Imo with the season riding on the line for the Yankees and at this point of the game, in order to justify using Barnes, the Sox should have a minimum of a five run lead.

I bet I aged ten years in that last of the ninth inning!!!
I was convinced another Bucky Dent or Aaron Boone was going to break my heart once again.

We have seen it too many times haven't we. In fairness, the Yanks have seen him several times this year but damn.

Proud of Porcello. If he can pitch like that the rest of October, we have a decent chance. Dodgers-Sox would be a great series and would be a marketing dream for the network carrying this year's WS

All of the remaining four teams are very good indeed, but in all honesty, whether it is the Sox or Houston who advances, the AL will win it.
For me though the two biggest hurdles for the Sox will be 1) getting some good pitching from the middle to late inning guys and of course Kimbrel, who was awful tonight in spite of ultimately getting it done;2) at least some decent production from the bottom of the lineup like we saw from Vazquez tonight.
If the Sox should fall short in the next round or in the WS, I will be disappointed for sure.
However the hurt and disappointment would have been a lot greater had they lost this series to the Yankees for obvious reasons and especially so for folks like me who have felt all of the pain inflicted by the Yankees over the years which finally ended in 2004.
Even after that though, for me some of the pain never went away, and this series from pitch one of game one brought back all of the intensity, feelings of frustration and anger at times of 2003, 2004, 1978 and too many regular season games over the years to count.

Also a big shout out is in order for Alex Cora for how he managed the team during this series and especially last night going against the odds and using Brock Holt in Game Three.

Current odds at Bookmaker to win the WS have Houston favored at +190 with the Sox second at +250.
If I wasn't such a big Sox fan, I would take Houston to win it all getting almost 2-1 odds every day of the week.

MLB - Odds to Win - 2018 World Series
Boston Red Sox Odds
+250

30k USD

Houston Astros
+190

Los Angeles Dodgers
+295

Milwaukee Brewers
+425
