A source tells Ken Rosenthal of FOXSports.com that the Phillies have agreed to send three players to the Astros for Roy Oswalt.
J.A. Happ is one of them. According to Rosenthal, the Astros will also cover a "very significant" portion of the $23 million-plus remaining on Oswalt's contract. Now we wait to hear if Oswalt agrees to waive his no-trade clause.

Jon Heyman of SI.com hears that the Phillies were discussing sending left-hander J.A. Happ, right-hander Vance Worley and two pitching prospects to the Astros for Roy Oswalt.
We've heard a wide range of rumored deals, some even including first base prospect Matt Rizzotti, outfielder Anthony Gose or relief prospect Scott Mathieson. We've also heard that the Phillies might receive some cash as part of the deal. Assuming Oswalt waives his no-trade clause, we should all find out the specifics soon enough

And anyone suggesting Oswalt doesnt have it anymore is just plain wrong....the guy is having one of his better seasons of his career.

Phils definitely team to beat in the NL now. Only need 3 pitchers for the playoffs so see them giving the Yanks a run. Just got down at +650 to win NL and +1400 to win WS.

gone if we get oswalt.

true, but not for a 7 game series.

absolutly true in a 7game series. if u can go up 3-0 and throw a blanton out there u r still up 3-1 with halladay, hamels, and oswalt needing u to get 1 win. 4th starter is irrelevant

Absolutely you go 3 man rotation in a 7 game series. Can't run Blanton out there for a game 4, no ****in way

Agree but down 1-2 or even up 2-1 I think Halladay gets the ball for game 4. Up 3-0 you may rest the big boys.

He def could, he seems scared of the big lights as he has admitted he is complacent in Houston.

Money is a big factor with that option year but you gotta go for the win. He has to have made enough to start thinking winning over money
