Rich Harden back with Oak

Rich Harden signed a one-year deal today with Oak, where he played from 03'-08', injuries seem to plague the guy, he was only 5-5 in 18 starts with Texas last yr, hopefully he can get back to the pitcher he once was but I doubt it.

Hes gonna be a bullpen pitcher and I think he can be effective with how he pitches, could be a dominant setup guy if he can limit walks. They say he will have a shot at the 5th spot but that's nonsense.

I didn't think about that but it's a good idea, one or two innings with his velocity would be a good thing, no way he should be a starter if Oak wants him to be effective.

rev i don't hype players on my teams when not worthy.......please find where I ever hyped Harden up.........I said many times, he sucked DURING THE SEASON.....he proved over the course of the season that he was not willing to "pitch" and simply goes out there and wings it........which makes moving him to the bullpen as a setup type guy possibly a good idea.......honestly though, I think his control problems are going to prevent him from being very productive regardless of his role

Lee is gone, do you see me talking shit about him??

Well I don't want to talk too much about Lee, even so I will in this Harden thread. Lee sucked in the reg season for Tex, he's like a girl that got some work done and a makeover that's now hot but he wasn't that good not too long ago. I remember him being a non-roster invitee to Clvd just a few years ago, barely made the team then became the team ace, he'll do well in the Nat'l league because they have weaker hitter, but he's no Halliday, or even Felix H.
If Harden is in the pen then I have to think his control won't be such an issue, but it's not too long (feels waaay to long for me) until I get to see the guy in Cactus league play.

Tex overworked the shit out of Lee it was rediculous. They def got their money worth but he was dead down the stretch and found a 2nd wind in the postseason

Harden and Chavez, ahhh what could have been for the A's. Two of the best prospects Oak ever had.
