todays big play for me is on the arizona diamondbacks to keep the florida marlins on their losing streak.... im not just not sold on the offense production that the marlins are putting up... over their last 18 home games they have managed to produce exactly 3 runs per game average.... they have hit only .238 all year at home... they have only batted .212 over the last 7 days scoring a measly 18 runs.

the problem has been they faced decent pitching in Atlanta in their last series while struggling to break this losing streak....i mean when ur 1-2 hitters are hitting 4 for their last 32 and when your 3-5 hitters are 5 for 41, you got problems... combined the florida 1-5 hitters are batting .120 or something going 9 for 73.... Flat out terrible !!! Sure they have Anibel Sanchez on the mound who has beaten this same arizona team on May 31... sure the d-backs have had a tough time with the opening game of a road series but i cant throw out the fact that losing streaks are tough to break no matter who is pitching when your offense is in shambles.... and when your opposing team is averaging 4.8 runs in its last 10 games on the road, just punched out 28 hits in its last 3 game series and averaged over 7 runs against these marlins in that end of may series, i would have to think that the d-backs will come into here with no pressure compared to what the marlins are feeling and just play their regular game to pull out a close battle but nevertheless a victory over the sputtering marlins !!
