My Scouting Report On Josh Outman Is This: He Has 5 Pitches He Will Use In A Game.... 2seam/4seam Fastball That Reaches 95 Is His Bread And Butter .... A Slider Thats In The Low 80's And A Breaking Ball In The 70's...... Occasionally He Will Throw The Change Up...... This Kid Is Raw And Green As Can Be But He Will Climb Considerably With Experience.... With Only 12 Starts Lifetime We Are Only Seeing The Tip Of The Iceberg.....

He Is Currently 2-0 With A 3.06 Era And A Whip Of 1.19...being A Left Hand Pitcher Always Seem To Frustrate Hitters As His Opponents This Year Are Batting Only .289 Against Him.... Todays Opponent The White Sox Are Hitting Only.255 Against Lhp And To Make Matters Worse, They Havent Faced A Lefty In Over A Week.... This May Not Mean Much But As Cold As The White Sox Bats Were, They Got Hot Recently Batting .293 Over The Last 10 Days, But All That Came Against Only 1 Lefty.... May Not Mean Much But Coming From Personal Experience.... It Factors In

As A Team The White Sox Gave Up 33 Runs (4.8 Rpg ) In The Month Of May In All Games Started By A Lefty...a Tad Higher Than Their Average Of 4.2.... Now They Start Clayton Richard Who In 4 Starts This Year Is 2-0 With A 3.38 But His Whip Is 1.42.... And This Is Great Numbers For Him.... But Ive Studied Him And Imo He Really Isnt That Good, In 12 Career Starts His Teamates Have Only Gave Him A 4.5 Run Support Average While Giving Up 4.8 To Their Opponents... Not To Mention That Opponents This Year Bat .335 Against Him.... You Compare That To Oaklands Starter Whos Teammates Give A Whopping 5.3 Run Support While Giving Up Only 3.3 To Thier Opponents.....

Now Let Me Explain That Both Of These Pitchers Have Had Very Soft Scheduling For Their Individual Starts But Im Going To Side With The A's Due To The Run Support They Give This Kid... Yes I Realize That The A's Are Horrible Against Lefties This Year Batting Only .208 ..... I Realize They Have Hit Horrible All Year .240 And On The Road .239....... But The Fact Remains That Imo Josh Is Just The Better Pitcher And Has More Upside Down The Road..... This Kid Is From The Blanton /philly Trade And He Will Continue To Excell Slowly But Surely.... He Finds Another Soft Spot In Which The Wrong Team Is Favored Here...... I Will Play A Small Play On The Over As I Think Both Pitchers Tail Just A Tad And That The A's Will Score Plenty
