ARIZONA VS DETROIT ~~ my local area kid (willis) going against mlb's golden child (galarraga) ... former teammates from earlier this season untill detroit shipped willis to arizona for billy buckner...wow, what a disappointment... i knew Dontrell from the time he was a snot nose kid till he got drafted by the chicago cubs... kept in touch with him thru his florida days till about the time him and miguel came to detroit.... i could only imagine his emotions when he steps on the hill with 7 days rest against the team that traded him...

dontrell is a player that thrives with emotion... sometimes good, sometimes bad... but today those emotions will be on the bad side... dontrell is a better suited pitcher for the national league but he will be pitching in Comerica park tonight, where he is 2-3 over the last 3 years in 11 starts ... in 47 2/3 of innings pitched he has walked 44 people and given up 43 hits not to mention 34 runs or the fact that the 6 homers he has given up there is the most of any park in that span... no wonder the tigers gave up on him.... he has always had problems with control as the last 4 years whip states

im going to back detroit on the moneyline in this game as i still believe the golden child will still get the calls, especially at home... detroit has won 6 straight and even though it was against the nationals and the lowly pirates i still think they are the better sound team coming into this game... they are batting .292 for the month of june... batting .333 over their last 7 ( 2nd to the red sox who just swept these d-backs) and have over a 100 total bases.... not to mention that they bat against lefties .277 and hold a OBP of .349 ~~ both 7th in the majors

i also am going to play a little money on the over in this game as well as i just feel that both teams will be able to score but i will give the win and nod to the detroit tigers and the golden child
