4-2 yesterday winning all the big plays .... for today one big game and a lot of optionional small plays:

WHITE SOX VS RAYS

i really wanted to make this an exclusive play, but as much as it warrants that status there are a few tidbits that prevent me in doing so.... i will however rate this game as a 5*

everyone who knows me here knows i love cappin left handers, and john danks is one of my favorites....especially on the road... the prior 3 years mr. danks has compiled a 22-12 record on the road and holds a lifetime road 4-1 record with a 4.50 ERA at tampas tropicana field...overall in all games against TB, he shows a 5-2 record with a 4.10 era in 8 starts... Mr. danks has had TB's number over the years as batters bat a measly .212 against him... only 2 other teams have fared worse against danks. ( pirates and dodgers )

Now i have to be wary of his last start in Tb as he gave up 8 runs in 4 innings of work... i also have to be wary of how tampa bay is hitting right now as they are batting .291 over the last 7 days.

But the main reason i will be playing 2 plays in this game is the following: umpire victor carapazza is one of the youngest umpires in the bigs this year... he has shown his youth as most young umpires do early when they come thru~~ favor the home teams and towards the under... yet that is misleading because when you first arrive up here, you are specifically taught to ump this way... i look for things to swing a little with a season under his belt combined with the rumors that this kid is going to be staying up here... he is affiliated with the joyce family, and is in todays crew with Hunter Wendelstedt ( who just loves danks )...

ROOKIEEES FINAL THOUGHT : I HAVE TO BELIEVE THAT AS HOT AS THE TB RAYS HAVE BEEN HITTING THAT THEY WILL GET A FEW OFF OF DANKS THIS AFTERNOON... TB HAS A HISTORY OF THE LONG BALL WHEN DANKS STRUGGLES.... BUT I FEEL THAT AFTER BEING SHUTOUT YESTERDAY THAT THE WHITE SOX WILL PROVIDE SOME RUNS IN THIS GAME.... THEY AVERAGED 6 RUNS PER A GAME IN THIS MEETING THE LAST 5 PRIOR TO YESTERDAYS GAME.... THEY ALSO AVERAGED OVER 4 RUNS LAST SEASON IN TROPICANO ..... WITH TB JAMES SHIELDS GIVING UP AN AVERAGE OF 4 RUNS PER A START IN HIS LAST 5 STARTS AGAINST THE CWS, I HAVE TO SAY THAT THERE WILL BE RUNS SCORED IN THIS GAME...I CANT SAY THAT SHIELDS HAS GOTEN INTO FORM , BUT I DO KNOW THAT HE IS DECENT EARLY ON BY HIS 8-3 OVERALL MARCH / APRIL RECORD, BUT THE 2-2 RECORD AND 5.33 OVERALL IN 8 STARTS WITH A WHIP OF 1.45 IS NOTHING BUT FAVORABLE TO US NO MATTER WHAT HE HAS DONE...SO WITH THAT BEING SAID I WILL LEAVE YOU WITH THIS LITTLE TIDBIT ~~ JOHN DANKS IS 17-11 WHEN HIS TEAM SCORES 3-5 RUNS AND IS AN AMAZING 25-4 WHEN THE SOX SCORE 6 RUNS .... IF OUR UMPIRING IS FAVORING DANKS AS I EXPECT THEM TO DO AND IF THE SOX BATS COME TO LIFE IN ANYTHING CLOSE TO THIS EXACT MATCHUP OF THE 4/8 MEETING IN WHICH 16 RUNS WERE SCORED, THEN YOU NEED TO BACK DANKS AND THE OVER IN THIS GAME !!!!

I MAY UPGRADE BOTH OF THESE PLAYS TO THIS GAME TO EXCLUSIVE STATUS BUT FOR RIGHT NOW:
