its been a tough post all star hangover for me as i cant seem to get on track yet... exclusive play lost last night for the 4th time in 16 plays ... not going to get into that game but i believe still i was on the right side....

for today im going to tackle this toronto/kc game

Marc Rzepczynski (L) TOR vs Zack Greinke (R) KC

i am inserting part of the write up that i had about this kid zynski in his return back to the bigs on july 7th which imo still applies to this game.... on that day against minnesota he gave up 4 runs on 8 hits in 5 1/3 inns....but managed to have 7 k's ~~ including striking out joe mauer 2 times... this shows me he still has the goods.. now why they threw him to the bullpen for 2 stints has me wondering, but prior to his callup was his last 2 starts in AAAs for the las vegas 51's...

june 23rd home against the sacramento river cats

7 2/3 innings pitched / 3 hits / 1bb / 9 k's ~~~ what was important about this game was the fact that this was his second consecutive improving start ... Not to mention that the sac rivercats after being shut down by marc went on to win 9 of their next 11 games.... Sacramento also had the 2nd best road record

june 28th away against the fresno grizzilies

now fresno is the best pcl team right now and they hold the best record by 5 games over everyone 52-34 and have the best home record 27-16 .... Marcs numbers in this game were mildly fair

5 innings pitched / 7 hits / 2er / 4 bb's / 5 k's ~~ imo this was his workout game for todays game as the coaching staff stretched him out for 110 pitches.... He had a lot to deal with as umpire clint fagan who was behind the plate.... Clint fagan is known around the minors as having one of the most smallest strike zones in the business... Probably the reason why he hasnt made it to the bigs yet.... On this day that he was umping, there were 30 hits /20 runs scored / 6 hrs and 9 walks.... So you get the kind of idea how he is behind the plate.... Marc faced this same team on june 3rd and shut them down in 6 inn on 4 hit ball giving up 1 run.... A tale of two different games

this kid is still primed for a big game....

zach grienke is his opposing pitcher with the royals and he himself has put together 2 b2b good starts against seattle and oakland.... today he has an umpire who likes his stuff as mike estabrook has 128 plate calls with this kid.... when he is behind the dish he has averaged 9.9 so/9 and a 4.13 so/bb ratio with greinke .... the only thing that bothers me is his 1.36 whip that comes along with that.....

the negative for the royals is that they are a terrible july team 2-8 last 4yrs and have stunk it up post all star this year ~~ 1 hr / 18 runs / .260 ba /and only 58 total bases .....

i like the under in this game , but im also going to side with toronto with what their bats since the all star gm ~ 106 total bases / 7 hr / 34 runs / and a .330 batting average
