RUDY NYC Sports MLB Plays of the Day (09/24/09)

Picks #1 and #2

MLB Baseball (Cincinnati Reds at Pittsburgh Pirates)
Cincinnati Reds 9/24/2009 12:35 PM
Spread -1˝ +135 for Game
B Arroyo - R must Start C Morton - R must Start

MLB Baseball (Cincinnati Reds at Pittsburgh Pirates)
Cincinnati Reds 9/24/2009 12:35 PM
Money Line -124 for Game
B Arroyo - R must Start C Morton - R must Start

Bronson Arroyo remains sharp...Charlie Morton is average at best...one team, Pirates, has quit, winning only 24 of last 29, the other team, Reds, continue to hit and play that loosey-goosey ball...Reds have taken 7 in a row against Pirates...more of the same today...play it both ML and RL

Pick #3:

MLB Baseball (Los Angeles Dodgers at Washington Nationals)
Los Angeles Dodgers/Washington Nationals 9/24/2009 7:05 PM
Total Points UNDER 5˝ -125 for 1st 5 Innings
V Padilla - R must Start J Martin - R must Start

Jump on this 5 inning line as game total is 9.5...Vincent Padilla is pitching remarkably well and so is JD Martin...no reason to expect runs in this game with under ump Jerry Crawford behind the dish

Pick #4:

MLB Baseball (Texas Rangers at Oakland Athletics)
Texas Rangers/Oakland Athletics 9/24/2009 3:35 PM
Total Points UNDER 8˝ -117 for Game
S Feldman - R must Start B Anderson - L must Start

Buy this one to 8.5 as we did or wait as it may rise based on the high scoring the last 3 nights...Scott Feldman is pitching close to a Cy Young year and especially well on the road...Brett Anderson has had decent form of late and threw a "beaut" his last out against Texas...lot's of foul ground and the daylight will only help the UNDER

Pick #5:

MLB Baseball (Seattle Mariners at Toronto Blue Jays)
Seattle Mariners
9/24/2009 7:05 PM
Money Line -150 for Game
F Hernandez - R must Start R Romero - L must Start

Felix Hernandez is still in the Cy Young running, well let's just say he IS pitching like a Cy Young winner...Ricky Romero has tailed way off; classic case of a rookie haven throw too many pitches...no "Joba Rule" in Canada!

Pick #6:

MLB Baseball (Detroit Tigers at Cleveland Indians)
Detroit Tigers 9/24/2009 7:05 PM
Spread -1˝ -130 for Game
Verlander - R must Start C Carrasco - R must Start

Little faith in Carlos Carrasco turning it around tonight...we will back unreliable Justin Verlander as he has beaten the pitiful Indians, losers of 10 straight, 3 times this year

GL,
RUDY
