RudyNYC MLB Play of the Day - 4/1/11

1-0 +1.5 units, +$157.5 yesterday
-----------------------------

Friday:

Red Sox/Rangers OVER 8.5 -120 (5dimes) 1.5 units

ALERT: Total is quickly moving to 9. The short of it is we have two starters, Lester and Wilson, who had not great but decent springs who now are faced with the typical opening day possibility of being yanked (pun on words???) early. All we hear is Lester, Lester, Lester as if he has won the 2011 Cy Young award already. Lester is traditionally a slow starter in the regular season. On the other hand, Wilson got out of the box hot last year and we are a bit concerned that he might be ready despite the "OK" spring where he was battling a hammy injury. However, the Red Sox lineup is brutally good and one has to believe they will put up a few as will the Rangers on a perfect sunny day with temps in the 80's. Balls can fly in Arlington when the heat is turned up. We'll say it again, this one goes over in the mid to late innings. Should be a fun game to watch.

White Sox/Indians OVER 8 -105 (5dimes) 1.5 units
Here we have have two pitchers Carmona and Buerhle who had average springs but have had a history of starting the regular season in decent form. However, Carmona has been erratic throughout his career and we believe the potent White Sox hitters will knock him around silly. The weather is improving in Cleveland but the high will be around 40 and the sogginess will persist as another storm approaches later in the day. We know what that means: shorter starting pitching stints and many pitching changes. This game will be reminiscent of yesterday's Yankee game and we will see the low attainable total of 8 surpassed in the late innings.

GL,
RUDY

Seth: Fogell, this ID says that you're 25 years old. Why wouldn't you just put 21, man?
Fogell: Seth, Seth, Seth. Listen up, ass-face: every day, hundreds of kids go into the liquor store with fake IDs, and every single one says they're 21. Pssh, how many 21 year olds do you think there are in this town? It's called f*cking strategy, alright?

I am trying to stick to the totals (I do seemingly have better success) and there just weren't plays that met enough of my criteria this morning. I don't want to post it unless I'm feelin' it. There will be plenty of opportunities ahead for me. Obviously there are certain stats I like to look at that just can't come in to play on Day 2 of the season.

GL today.

The reason I mentioned that is because "Ricky has lost his number". Romero had a pitiful spring, I mean awful. The Twins hit and Pavano usually gets touched up a bit. Just saying.....what do I know anyway?...lol
