RudyNYC MLB Play of the Day - 4/15/2011

Yesterday 1-0 +1.5 units (Win on UNDER in Oak)
Season 12-6, +9.62 units
--------------------------------------------------------

For Friday Night:

Bears/Broncos OVER 8.5 -105 (5dimes) 2 units (Cubs/Rockies for the thick)
....or should we call this "Zambrano vs. Wandy II"? We have a very similar scenario to Wednesday night's game in Houston. A total set low based on the starting pitcher's names, Garza and Chacin, and the public perception of how talented these pitchers really are. First, let me start with a little chopped meat, Matt Garza, who coming off a miserable spring training, is rocking and rolling with an 0-1 record, 5.68 ERA, 1.82 WHIP, and .364 BAA. Does anyone believe for a second that he is capable of stopping this runaway batting train, the Rockies? This team that will have the NL MVP (Zulo) when all is said and done, the league's worst kept secret in Jonathan Herrera, and has a problem in finding a place in the field for names like Helton, Seth Smith, Fowler, Carlos Gonzalez, Iannetta, Rudy, Stewart, Wigginton, Spilborghs and more. Getting back to Matt Garbage, incidentally, he did get shelled in his only start against the Rockies, but we need not dwell on that.

Okay, Jujube (remember those?) Chacin is a very fine hurler but when all is healthy he is still the #3 starter. But let's not forget that the Cubs are hitting as evidenced by scoring runs as follows in their recent games: 9, 2, 5, 5, 0, 7, 4, 6, 4, 4, and 5.

Finally, this is why we have been scratching our heads all day; these two, over the last 7 played at Coors the last two years have scored runs to the tune of 15,11,19,16,16,11, and 8. Average of 13.7 with only one not surpassing this low total of 8.5. The weather checks out, the field is ready, and they are off!

(Oh, tomorrow the jet lag kicks in for the Rockies - it's always day two going right to left)

GL,
Rocky, I mean 'Rudy'

...and play the Rockies, just not posting a -150 lay-up

Evan: What? One name? ONE NAME!?!? Who are you? Seal?
Seth: Fogell, this ID says that you're 25 years old. Why wouldn't you just put 21, man?
Fogell: Seth, Seth, Seth. Listen up, ass-face: every day, hundreds of kids go into the liquor store with fake IDs, and every single one says they're 21. Pssh, how many 21 year olds do you think there are in this town? It's called f*cking strategy, alright?
