Talking Saturdays MLB POD

Colorado at San Diego

I'll take Hammel here who has struggled at home with a 7.62ERA, but has been night and day on the road where he has a 1.97ERA. Hammel has faced the Padres twice this year, but it was earlier in the year 4/27 and 5/30 when Gonzalez was hot and the Padres could actually win games now things are different actually 3 batters he faced in both games won't even be in the lineup (Hundley, Eckstein, Giles). Hammel will also enjoy the benefit of going on 5 days rest here today where the Rockies are 4-0 when he's off 5 days rest! The Rockies are also 9-1 in his last 10 starts overall and he'll face a lineup that is hitting just .194 against RHP in their last 5 and .214 at home for the season. The Padres are 5-21 in thier last 26 facing a RHP.

Correia who has a 6.48ERA in his last 3 has not pitched as well at home 4.68ERA home to his 4.27 road ERA. In his last start at home vs. the Rockies this year he went just 3.1 innings gave up 8 hits and 5 ER. Actually the Rockies have a .320 average against him and they are hitting .297 int heir last 5 scoring 6.13 R/9 in their last 5 vs. RHP.

The Padres are 3-13 in their last 16 games and when you take out 1 win where they scored 10 runs they are averaging just 2.8 runs per 9 games something the Rockies should easily be able to out score.

Colorado (POD)

Arizona at St Louis

Harren vs. Wainwright need I say more? Of course I do! Harren with a .82ERA in his last 3 and has been solid on the road this year 4-1 with a 2.36 ERA. Wainwright 3-4 at home with a 2.35ERA and a 1.07ERA over his last three starts is a star in the making.

Dbacks are only scoring 3.13R/9 in their last 5 vs. RHP while the Cardinals are fairing slightly better with a .278 average and 4.96 r/9. However the Cardinals have only seen Harren once and that was in 2007 when he was with the A's. Harren went 7IP gave up 6H and 2ER with 8K's. I see the Cardinals struggling here tonight in a pitching duel. Wainwright on the other hand has 4 quality starts against the Diamondbacks. He owns a career 2.61ERA in games started against the Diamondbacks.

The trends:
Diamondbacks are under 22-8-2 last 32 as a road dog.
The under is 19-7-1 last 27 times the Cardinals have been home favorites
The under is 8-3 in Wainwright last 11 starts vs. NL West.

UNDER 7
