Sea signing Figgins?
According to Jon Heyman of SI.com, the Mariners are close to signing Chone Figgins to a four-year, $35 million contract.
That's $1 million less than the amount originally reported by FOXSports.com's Ken Rosenthal. It's a pretty nice bargain for the Mariners, who just landed one of the most highly coveted position players on the free agent market. Figgins, 31, will bring excellent defense to Seattle along with a knack for getting on base. He hit .298/.395/.393 this past season with five homers, 54 RBI, 42 stolen bases and 114 runs scored in 615 at-bats. Dec. 4 - 4:02 pm et
