Seattle Cuts Milton Bradley
The Seattle Mariners placed outfielder Milton Bradley on irrevocable waivers Monday for the purpose of granting him his unconditional release.
Bradley, a contentious character throughout his 12-year career, had been designated for assignment on May 9. He posted two homers, six doubles and 13 RBI with a .218 average over 28 contests this year. The 33-year-old was limited to 73 games in 2010 and hit .205 with eight home runs and 29 runs batted in.
Seattle acquired Bradley in December 2009 from the Chicago Cubs for pitcher Carlos Silva.
Bradley broke into the majors in 2000 with the Montreal Expos. He is a career .271 hitter with 125 home runs and 481 RBI in 1,042 games with eight teams.
