Shutouts MLB Monday With Big Play

Hey guys love this one today. Hit my last two big plays!

Big Play:

Texas Rangers vs Oakland Athletics

Texas will start Derek Holland who is 3-1 with a 5.12 era. Oakland will start Brandon McCarthy who is 1-2 with a 3.57 era. Both of these picthers are coming off of very bad outings as Holland allowed 11 hits and lasted five innings. McCarthy allowed 7 runs and 14 hits in 5 1/3. Texas can rake as they are 4th in the league in runs. McCarthy hasnt faced the Rangers since 2006 and the Rangers will put up alot of runs today. On the other side Oakland has Coco Crisp back who hits very well against the Rangers. Crisp has a .341 average with one homer, six RBIs and eight runs over his last 10 meetings with the Rangers and the A's are starting to hit as a team. Although Holland is 1-1 with a 2.35 ERA in three starts against the A's. Holland did not pitch well on the road last year 1-4 with a 6.15 era and is posting a 3.29 era on the road this year. Both of these teams struggle on defense as they are tied for the most errors in the American League. McCarthy will struggle with the Rangers today and Holland has given up 5 runs in each of his last three stars so the A's will score runs as well. Should be some errors and each team will capitalize! Over is 5-1 in Athletics last 6 games as a favorite. Over is 5-2 in Rangers last 7 overall. Dana DeMuth will be behind the plate and the Over is 5-0 in DeMuths last 5 games behind home plate. Over is 6-2 in DeMuths last 8 Monday games behind home plate.

Take:

Texas Rangers and Oakland Athletics Over 7.5 -130

$250/$192.31

Florida Marlins vs St. Louis Cardinals

Florida will start Chris Volstad who is 2-1 with a 5.32 era. St. Louis will start Kyle Lohse who is 4-1 with a 1.64 era. Loshe has been outstanding this season winning four straight starts with an 0.86 era since losing his season debut to Pittsburgh on April 4. Yesterday seemed to be the day for huge dogs and I found one again today. Although Lohse has performed well this season, Lohse is 2-2 with a 5.01 ERA in four starts against the Marlins and the Cardinals lost three of five against Florida last year. Meanwhile the Florida bats are on fire, hitting 5 homers yesterday against Cincinnati. Hanley Ramirez hasnt been "Hanley" like but he owns Loshe as he's 5 for 11 with three doubles and a homer against him. The last time Volstad faced the Cardinals was last year where he threw a 5 hitter beating the Cardinals 4-0. Lohse struggled last year at home going 2-4 with a 5.04 era. With David Freese out of the Cardinals lineup I like Volstad on the bump behind the hot hitting Marlins. Marlins are 7-1 in Volstads last 8 starts. Marlins are 4-1 in Volstads last 5 starts as an underdog. Marlins are 7-0 in Volstads last 7 starts after scoring 5 runs or more in their previous game.

Take:

Florida Marlins +150

$75/$112.50
