Shutouts MLB Wednesday With Big Play

Detroit Tigers vs Seattle Mariners

Detroit will start Rick Porcello who is 0-2 with a 6.19 era. Seattle will start Erik Bedard who is 0-3 with an 8.56 era. These two pitchers have both struggled this year with Porcello allowing 11 earned runs in 16 innings pitched this year. Bedard has allowed 13 earned runs in 13 and 2/3 innings pitched. Seattle, who is ranked 18th in runs and 28th in batting average raked yesterday scoring 13 runs. Porcello is 2-0 with a 3.57 ERA in three starts against Seattle while Bedard is 1-2 with a 4.98 ERA in four starts against Detroit. With Seattle struggling at the dish the under may seem reasonable BUT three of Seattle's seven highest-scoring games this season have come with Bedard on the mound, but those efforts have been wasted due to Bedard's poor performance. Over is 8-3 in Porcellos last 11 starts on grass. Over is 6-2 in SEA last 8 games as a home underdog. The Over is 4-0 in the last 4 meetings in Seattle These pitchers will struggle once again and Seattle has momentum after a big scoring day yesterday. For my big play...

Play:

Detroit Tigers and Seattle Mariners OVER 7.5 -115

$200/$173.91

Baltimore Orioles vs Minnesota Twins

Baltimore will start Zach Britton who is 2-1 with a 2.75 era. The Twins will start Nick Blackburn who is 1-2 with a 3.06 era. The Orioles who have struggled scoring runs bursted to 11 runs yesterday and look to get back on track as they were at the beginning of the year starting 6-1. Meanwhile Blackburn is 1-2 with a 5.79 ERA in three starts and one relief appearance against the Orioles. The Orioles are 7-1 in their last 8 home games vs. a right-handed starter. Mike Everitt will be umping behind the plate and the Orioles are 5-2 in their last 7 games with Everitt behind home plate.

Take:

Baltimore Orioles -140

$50/$35.71

New York Yankees vs Toronto Blue Jays

The Yankees will start Bartolo Colon who is 1-0 with a 3.97 era. Colon will be making his first start since 2009. Colon went 3-6 with a 4.19 ERA in 12 starts for the White Sox in 2009. He is 8-3 record with a 3.65 ERA in 19 career starts against Toronto. Toronto will start Brett Cecil who is 1-1 with a 6.19 era. Cecil dominated the Yankees going 4-0 with a 2.67 ERA in five starts against them last season and is 12-2 with a 3.53 ERA in his last 16 starts against AL East opponents. Although Cecil pitches very well against the Yankees I look for Colon to have a huge day after posting the numbers he did in spring training. Colon, in 4 starts was 1-0 with a 2.25 era. The Yankess will rebound today after Rivera blew the save last night. Jim Wolf will be behind the plate tonight and Yankees are 4-0 in their last 4 games with Wolf behind home plate.

Take:

New York Yankees -120

$50/$41.67

Washington Nationals vs St. Louis Cardinals

Washington will start John Lannan who is 1-1 with a 3.38 era. St. Louis will start Jake Westbrook who is also 1-1 with a 7.63 era. Westbrook has struggled as of late allowing a season high nine hits in 5 1/3 innings last Wednesday. In two starts against the Nationals, the right-hander is 1-1 with a 3.14 ERA, but he is just 3-10 in his 13 career home team starts during April. Meanwhile John Lannan has pitched well in his 3 starts allowing just 6 earned runs in 16 innings pitched. Last year Lannan pitched much better on the road than at home posting a 6-3 record with a 4.46 era. Lannan has a career ERA of 4.08 but pitches very well against St. Louis posting a 2.36 ERA in five starts against St. Louis, surrendering two runs or fewer each time, and the Cardinals are hitting just .220 against left handed pitchers this year. Meanwhile Jayson Werth rakes at Busch Stadium where he is hitting .364 with two homers and seven RBIs in his last six games including a double and a homer in 2 at bats against Westbrook. Nationals are 5-0 in Lannans last 5 road starts. Nationals are 5-0 in Lannans last 5 starts as a road underdog. Jeff Nelson will be behind the plate and the road team is 4-1 in Nelsons last 5 Wednesday games behind home plate.

Take:

Washington Nationals
