Boston Red Sox vs Toronto Blue Jays

The Red Sox will start Daisuke Matsuzaka who is 0-2 with a 12.86 era. Toronto will start Ricky Romero who is 1-1 with a 1.66 era. Matsuzaka in two games started this year has only pitched a total of 7 innings, 2 in his last outing against Tampa Bay. Romero has been outstanding this year in 3 games pitching a total 21 innings and only allowing 4 earned runs. With Romero posting these numbers makes this game look easy but wait, the Red Sox are finally starting to hit the ball, scoring 8 runs yesterday against Toronto, their second highest scoring game of the year and the Sox have owned Romero. The Red Sox have scored 18 runs in the first three games of the four game series and Romero has gone 2-4 with a 7.42 ERA in nine starts against Boston. Five of the seven current Red Sox players with at least 10 at-bats versus Romero are hitting .400 or better against him. Meanwhile Matsuzaka has gone 6-1 with a 3.80 ERA in 11 starts against the Blue Jays for his highest win total against any team....BUT Matsuzaka has not had a winning record at home since 2009 with an era above 5. Matsuzaka also does not pitch well in day games. Bats roll today!
