Question So A-Rod is about to hit #600

what does it mean in terms of history?

How many will he hit? Does it even matter any more? Is his legacy done or will he be treated different than Bonds?

He's a cheater too. Pujols our only hope as of now in my opinion of a legit home run king.

Prince or Howard could give it a run too.

There is zero chance of Prince hitting 600 homers.

A-Rod should top 800 easily barring injury.

He may end up as the greatest hitter of a generation; Really dont care for the dude much, but much like Kobe and Farve, I gotta respect A-Rod for his sheer talent and consistency, despite the personality.

I agree he may hit 800 and most of those will come far after the steroid issue.

I don't think he's "tarnished" like Bonds and Clemens. Granted he lied about it at the beginning (which says more about who he is as a person than anything) but he's come clean finally and that's all that should matter. I just assume everyone did steroids during that period of time and his production stood out above all the other cheats. To his credit he has managed to stay healthy for most of his career and remained consistent in 4 different home ball parks.

At the same time I do hope that someone clean like Pujols will pass A-Rod. Pujols is 211 HR's behind Alex and only 4 years younger. Pujols has never hit 50 in a season so it probably won't happen. We are going to be saying A-Rod is the HR king for a very long time. (Which is much better than having Bonds)

dont put him in the same category as bonds...he's continuing to dominate the game in an era of testing and will break bond's tainted record
